So a WHILE back; we saw a post an a tumblr-esc site that roughly went;

Pairings of characters that the fandom thinks are either siblings or dating
*insert photo list of ships here*

On that list, Sunflower/Sunny X Basil from OMORI was included.

We don't know when we saw this, we might've not even been into OMORI back then. So we assume the post was made early on when OMORI was just released cause, otherwise I'd have to say

"WTF are you talking about OP? Nobody views Sunflower as sibling-esc!"

The only fic on AO3 that we found that portrays Sunny & Basil as siblings, was a joke/crack-fic about how Hero adopted the entire main cast post-good ending, it was even joked about in-universe. And while it wasn't the case back then, Sunflower now is the 2nd most popular pairing on AO3 (and with how anti-allied the fandom is, I doubt anyone views them as both).

You know what OMORI ship DOES fit that descriptions though?

Photobomb/Aubrey X Basil.

I have seen on AO3 both fanfic that portrays Photobomb as either romantic or sibling-esc. The tags "Polly adopts Aubrey" & "Aubrey and Basil are Siblings" are not common, but are canonical & used.

The reason I think about this is cause I remember watching a video of some cinderella-based movie, & the reviewer called the teenaged protagonist moving in with her boyfriend's family as "pseudo-incestious". Which, okay those 2 are clearly meant to be late-teens, calm down. But I wonder if in a fic, Aubrey dating Basil while moving in with him would be viewed as "pseudo-incestous". I personally wouldn't think it like that, because they're both likely 16 in-game, and after the good ending they'd would likely need time to come to grips with the truth & become friends again, meaning they could be 17-18 when they would start dating &/or Aubrey moving in. Which at that point who should actually care???

To clarify; I do have a method for creating icons that I'm happy with. But I've thought of just, making a bunch of icons for other people to maybe use. Mainly OMORI right now cause that's what I'm currently thinking of.

I kinda wanna be fancy about it though? We've seen some people use fancy boxing for icons to be in (example here), we don't know where to look for example code of that cause google hasn't helped us the best when it comes to Dreamwidth content. If anybody can tell us how to use such boxing or give other icon making advice; we'd appreciate it.

Does anyone else do this? We've personally done this mostly in the past with Marvel, DC & BNHA. Though recently we're doing this again (mostly with Ace Attorney NGL).

We just, get too tempted to get to the good stuff (fanfic), this with our belief that media shouldn't be fully ruined by somebody getting spoiled. Because if the story is good enough, the journey should still be good enough to go trough it. IDK, we just have an easier time reading fanfic then consume the original media, even if we read fanfic of something we don't know about.

We'll be sad once we no longer have enough icon-slots for more icons, but for now we added 2 more!

The icon on this post we added for autumny &/or Halloweeny stuff :3. Plus we just really like OMORI, so it's fun to have our blorbos as those blob creatures <3 (also count technically count as a Faraway Eden / polycule ship icon lolz).

The other one is Gilbert Baker's og pride flag. We didn't know what pride flags to use yet, since we're just kind of a general queer mess (Henry/Hopeless is our host, & he's a transmasc enby aroace bi-lesbian). Maybe we'll add more pride flag icons once we bought more icon-slots.

Things I've been doing recently;

• Almost fully finished Danganronpa V3: I'm basically at the end, but not there yet + I should consume the free time events. Besides that, I'll be consuming more of the Danganronpa series.


• Writing a bit more: it's not stuff for this Journal sadly. But getting used to writing more in general should be good regardless. Similar for drawing.


• Found out about another Prompt Community: au_challenge is specifically for creating more AUs, which I'm 100% for. Let's see howmany AUs I can make for this :3


• Been reading more of "The Ancient Magus' Bride": currently at the start of volume 8 / chapter 36.

So for a while now I've wanted to write a fic or several on Sunny X my version of his mom (I'm calling her Hanako) for a while now. Now, because of seer_beetle I've got a pretty good view of how their relationship would start & look like. Though I'd have to actually outline what I'd want to happen inside of this series of short one-shots (or long-fic) so that I could write out what happens.

Another thought I had is to connect this with my other idea; of a post-good ending fic series where the Faraway Gang (- Mari) all get together into a polycule (yes it would be messy, that's half the fun :3). Which got me the idea to make the Kel X Hero part it's own short series (since I'd imagine they'd get together before even the start of the game).

Really; I'm making a lot of work for myself. But setting 2 of the ships in their own series might lift some of the stress into more manageable chunks, instead of putting it immediately into one big-ass series. We'll see where it goes~

Do you ever just, think up AU stuff so much that you stray so far from canon that it's basically an original work now? I'm not really talking about rewrites / fix-it fics, but moreso next gen fics. Especially for fandoms that are moreso rooted in reality and / or have a largely small cast.

OMORI is a media that's both (even if a huge chunk of the game is set in the dreams of the MC). I personally have fun creating fan-kids & general fan-family for whatever reason. And while OMORI's cast have parents but they generally have so little personality that I can just, slide in my own characterization. At some point all this OC making and making minor characters into basically OCs. It can make it seem more of an original work with OMORI characters to me.

IDK; just a thought I had.

So I updated my OMORI Proship Names List to include Daphne & Bowen (mainly cause they're implied to be Mari & Hero's age). I wanted to come up with a shipname for Daphne X Bowen since the only one on the shipping wiki was a family ship name (def not meant to be romo).

I decided to call it Emmer Wheat. Mainly cause of them having an ancient Egypt vibe in headspace, ancient Egypt mainly eating bread with emmer wheat & ancient Egypt royalty is known to be incestous (well, about as incestuous as royalty in past tended to be).
