Love Is A Place Where Your Innocence Goes When It Dies

[Note: yes the OmegaVerse is mostly a smut trope, but I won't be discussing the sexual stuff in depth, so I won't be tagging this post as 18+. But if you are underage please be careful when consuming this stuff.]

I for a long time have had mixed feelings on the OmegaVerse. Being personally very intrigued by some of the ideas it brings up, but more often than not it's just used for dubiously consensual smut. Which I'm a sucker for, but the gender of it all does complicate my ability to enjoy it. But What A Heavenly Way To Die by ReturnToZero makes me want to also rework the OmegaVerse into something more to my taste. I'm not claiming to "fix" the OmegaVerse, and my approach is gonna need multiple posts, but see this as an exercise I'm doing in worldbuiling (also something I can link to if I ever decide to write OmegaVerse stuff). See this post as brainstorming for myself.

For those also interested in worldbuilding/making non-sexual stories in a reworked OmegaVerse; what are some topics you would be interested in being tackled?

So I was chatting with seer_beetle about a con-species we’re making up for wack-ass fanfic reasons (& we kept chatting about it). And I realized a little bit how, disturbing you can easily make a sapient species by adding a detail or two from real-life species.

To take an example from the species we were working on; sexual cannibalism.
