So I recently remembered aplatonic people existed because of It Was Never About Friends by mimicsunraiys (Shuichi/Maki fic for NDRV3). And now I think I'm greyplatonic. Now its hard to describe this to people who have no clue what that means (as I've learned), and I'm likely not the person to go to for this since I just figuered this out. But it got me curious about aplatonic people. Do you guys know of aplatonic characters from media or fanfic? leave them in the comments; I'm curious.

Because I'm rewatching Five Nights At Treasure Island: A complete Retrospective by SirFiftyFive I've been thinking about the original "Abandoned By Disney" story by slimebeast.

So I wanna clarify I think its mostly good! When I reread it for the first time in years, it was surprising how genuinely good the text was. It felt like an actual post on a blog about an island & the exprience the author had with it. I also felt like it had a good atmosphere, building up good tension in the story about the unease of the setting. Even the giant snake section felt like a real experiance the protag had despite the reported size of it.

& then photo-negative mickey happens...

I don't think it should've been executed the way it was. The idea of a costume standing in front of the protag, asking the line it does & taking of its head is fine in concept. It can be a creepy way to end the story. But the fact the costume is photo-negative instead of regular or moldy & that the blood is yellow and shown ruins the story for me. I feel like it was an attempt by the author to bait the audiance to draw art of it. Which, fine I guess, and it worked. But I feel like it doesn't fit the setting or tone of the story.

I've heard that slimebeast wrote 3 other stories in this universe & I'm curious about how the author furthered this setting. But I will admit that this story in specific leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

We haven't writen much during our vacation, like at all. We've got days on weeks were we've written next to nothing. But very early today we wrote 200-ish words for another pre-game NDRV3 fic. Though we should likely edit/write further the FNAF fic we have in Ellipsus. A friend of ours has offered to write out one of our fic ideas. Though I expect I will have to edit it a lot to make sense, since he hasn't played NDRV3.

Now, I was thinking again about what character should be the nightguard for my DR FNAF AU, i was considering Shuichi UNTILL-

Ryoma Hoshi popped into my mind.

It's just, weirdly obvious? Like we joke a lot about "who ze fuck would work for Freddy's", but Ryoma being an ex-convict would make it that he has little job prospects to begin with. And him being depressed/suicidal could explain why he doesn't leave despite the killer animatronics.

Plus he just got, a nice dialogue style? At least to me. So that'd be a bonus.

So, for those who remember the old days of Five Nights At Freddy's fandom, you know it was pretty diffrent from what it is today. Now, I'm not really deep in any fandom nowadays. I've personally grown tired of fandom drama so I try to avoid it like the plague. But I'm not here to talk about that here. I'm here to talk about the period of time where the main fandom activity in the FNAF fandom was make gijinkas + make up backstories for them.

Now it wasn't the only activity obviously, theorizing was popular since the first game. But How we theorize and ingage with the games has changed. Now this is partly because over the years Scott & now Steel Wool has added a lot more lore and actual charactization for the charcaters for FNAF. Back when before 4 or 5/sister location (depending on how you count them), there wasn't actually a lot of charactization for the characters or even setting. It very much feels like Scott was just throwing spaghetti at the walls and seeing what sticks.

Back then, people went buck wild with this. They would design gijinkas or anthro designs, make up their own bullshit characterization, and make stories semi-set in pizzarias & just go wild with what the story could be. Anyone who's been here for a while knows no-canon-characterization couldn't stop hundreds of people from having shipping wars with the bots.

Now not everyone loved this. I vaguely remember there baing hate for FNAFHS (which I get, but also I was one of the ppl who loved that series regardless). And now that kinda fan interaction has gotten a whole less popular unless you're going selfshipping with mostly the Daycare Attendant ngl.

To be honest I kinda miss old FNAF fandom. Yes eventually the series would need to do new stuff with itself and yes, this would naturually change fandom. But I can't help but have nostalgia for the fandom I grew up watching too many speedpaints for.

Idea for Shuichi's aunt. She doesn't really matter in NDRV3, but this is for an HPA no despair au we'll make if we ever finish DanganRonpa. Also she's Tsumugi's aunt as well because we wanted to do an au where we can apply the "Shuichi & Tsumugi are sibs" tag.

Ayane Saihara (born Shirogane) is a fairly well known producer of anime in Japan. While the writting of the characters can be mixed depending on anime, they're usually enjoyed moreso for their worldbuilding which clearly has a lot of care poured in. Ayane's general business practice is to find niche or unpopular manga, get rights to alter and adapt it, then change the worldbuilding to be able to support itself.

She's married to Kurai Saihara, a private detective. Though a more well known connection of her's is to her younger brother Mitsuaki Shirogane, who is a famous actor. The relationship between her and Mitsuaki is extremly strained even before Shuichi got into her custody, and she'd have Tsumugi's too if she had any contact with Mitsuaki.

She's generally, to speak plainly, a very akward person. She can come across as very cold and siff (even dressing in an overly fancy manner). But generally she likes to spend time with her loved ones & listening to what they find important. Even if she's not the greatest at emotional advice.

So some time ago, we heard of somebody headcanoning Shuichi Saihara from DanganRonpa as having Borderline Personality Disorder, or BPD. We were shocked about it since our perseption of the illness was still rooted in the idea of the sufferers lashing out in anger and pain. And while that is true for some, it made us look into BPD & find out about Quiet BPD.

Long story short is that Quiet BPD is still Borderline Personality Disorder, but most of the destructive symptomes are internalized. And while we've yet to fully reconsume NDRV3, we do think quiet-BPD!Shuichi can be very fitting. Another character we think would have (quiet) BPD is Basil from OMORI. Both characters seem to latch on to one or few people, revolve their worth around their thoughts & feel often intense self-critique.
