Also, what did you think of OMORI? what did you like about it? Who is your favorite character? Feel free to ramble to me about OMORI anytime, either in my posts or in DMs (hell, ramble to me about whatever! I like listening to people info-dumping about stuff they like :3)

Date: 2024-07-01 11:05 am (UTC)I loved Omori! Or maybe 'I hated Omori in a good way' would be a better way of putting it. What an agonising game! I found it absolutely haunting; there were times it gave me trouble sleeping. It also had one of the most effectively deployed plot twists I've ever seen.
Thinking about it, maybe I should make a post asking people whether their actions in a videogame have ever made them feel like a bad person; it could be an interesting topic! What I'm saying here is that the Mewo room in Black Space really fucked me up.
I like the way Omori blends horror with whimsy, too. As with Danganronpa (another fandom we share!), there's a playfulness to it that helps prevent it from feeling like an overly serious slog, despite its dark themes. 'When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's [OMORI/AUBREY/KEL/HERO]' cracked me up.
My favourite character is Sunny! It's interesting to me that I ended up liking him so much. I usually have a hard time connecting with silent protagonists, but we end up getting a strong sense of what's going on beneath the surface with him, despite his lack of dialogue, and I found that really compelling.
I made a couple of posts about Omori after finishing it; you may have spotted them already, if you've taken a look at my journal, but here are the links just in case you're interested! This is a general post about my reactions; this is a post thinking about how my actions at a specific point in the game impacted the story.

Date: 2024-07-01 11:44 am (UTC)I do like that vibe / energy that OMORI & Danganronpa share, as you said it keep it from making it a slog fest & makes it easier for people to want to continue. If I ever create something original I hope to capture a similar energy.
My favorite usually shifts over time & depends on what I'm focusing. But Sunny has also constantly been my fav of the game ^_^ he's just such an interesting wet cat of a character to me (not that the others aren't also interesting or sad, lolz).

I'm not familiar with your fandoms, but I'm a dark fic enjoyer, too. And also into age/experience gap and sometimes unhealthy/controversial topics.

I haven't gotten into Omori yet (I'm too scared to play the game myself) but the characters are SO cute, and I love that little sticker in your profile. Also, I hope you enjoy FE3H when you get around to trying it! It consumed me for 2+ years so I'd have highly recommended it if it weren't already on your list LOL

Date: 2025-01-03 07:36 pm (UTC)As for Omori, maybe watch a let's play instead? It's easier to quit midway-trough if you get too scared without losing too much progess. But I understand that the game can be very scary regardless, so no pressure if you don't want to.
