I read the story back when it was first posted. The golden age of creepypastas is so nostalgic for me. I remember being really scared on my first reading, but for every subsequent one the story had more holes in it, with the photonegative Mickey costume being the biggest wtf moment. It's too over the top in a way that breaks the otherwise realistic tone, and the final message on the wall was extremely cliche and corny. Like you said, the buildup is great and the story is mostly good, but a horror story hinges on it's climax the same way a joke relies on it's punchline, so having that moment be the weakest point of a good story is really a shame. I also heard of the sequels, but i haven't read those either. Having a four part saga of creepypastas sounds it would be a little excessive.
